Gala Sadurni is a San Francisco-based artist who is currently working in the medium of painting. She was born in San Francisco and was raised in both the SF Bay Area and Guanajuato, Mexico. Inspired by the changing environment around her, Gala began developing her art practice. After returning to the US for college, she graduated in 2009 from UC Santa Barbara’s Honors Program with BA in Art and an emphasis in photography. She is self-taught in painting. Her work has been shown in a variety of venues including group shows in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Today her art explores different styles in painting and seeks to combine abstraction and representation in an eclectic mix. Gala loves thinking about and looking at all forms of art. Her influences are Diane Arbus, Andreas Gursky, Gerhard Richter, Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch, Edward Hopper and David Hockney, among many others.
